Diane and Candy visit Snoqualmie - September 2008

We had a great surprise last week end when Diane, my good friend from high school, and her friend Candy paid us a visit. We had a great day at Snoqualmie Falls!!
And then off to Snoqualmie Pass for another hike.
Beware.....we seem to keep our company in the woods. ha!
But no one complains.....it is gorgeous!

The Kirk's joined us for the Denny Creek Hike and we had a blast!
We found a great log for a photo!!
Thanks for coming Diane and Candy!!

The Berggren's come to Seattle - August 2008

Jeremy is ready for the "Mariners Game" all decked out in his Cubbies clothes!!

Fun with Pa!!

Kids got to run the bases after the game. Yea!!

On the ferry to Orcas Island up in the San Juan's.
I know Jeremy could have stayed on this ferry all day long.
So could I! So gorgeous......even in the rain!!

Meeting another ferry!

Jeff enjoying the view!

Our cabin at Laughing Moon Farm!
It looks small but was great inside.
One day after we came back home Jeremy said, "Granny, I would like to go back to Orcas again. That cabin we stayed in was soooo beautiful!" ( :

View for Constitution Mt. in Moran State Park...in the rain. ) :
If it had been clear there is a 360 degree view and all of the islands and mountains can be viewed.
We were lucky to have partly sunny and it was still breathtaking!

Gorgeous!
Shopping at the Pottery!
Jeremy had occasion to use an Out House and thought it was great!
Top speed limit is 40 on the island and no stop lights.

Shopping!

A hike to Cascade Falls!

Jeremy spent hours watching the slugs on the trail!
(enlarge the picture if you want a view of a slug!)

A stop at Deception Pass State Park Fun iwth the waves even if it is raining!

Climbing on the rocks was fun!
Denny Creek Hike in Snoqualmie Pass
"These trees are gigantic!"

The falls at the end of the hike are gorgeous!
Jeremy did well with all the hikes. This one was 2 miles round trip!

Running in the COLD water on the rocks was a blast!

Granny & Jeremy

A day at Pike's Market proved that Jeremy could hold a crab and smile at the same time!!
Fun!! We bought these Dungeness Crabs and took them home to eat. Yum!!

Off to the Space Needle!
We went to the top with Lou, Granny's cousin's son, who works in the restaurant on the top!!

I spy!!

Off to Woodland Zoo for the day.
Woops....wrong picture....but Jeremy loved the zoo!!

The girafes were a favorite!

They had play grounds too!
Jeff and Jeremy liked the turtle! ( :

Granny liked the Butterflies the best!

Awesome!!

The sun came out as soon as we returned from the islands, of course!
But we had a gorgeous day at the locks! It was really busy....lots of boats going through!

A hike on the trail behind Granny & Pa's house!

The last day we did a hike to Rattlesnake Ledge. It is 4 miles round trip and Jeremy needed a little help from the back pack. But walked most of the way!!

What a sight when you arrive at the top!!

We ate our lunch by the lake below!

What a beautiful day and a great ending to a great vacation!!!
We miss you!!
